In the last 30 years, health literacy has been one of the prominent concepts in consumerism, patient empowerment and health promotion. This book aims to address the health literacy using the Turkish case. In this context, the book primarily addresses consumerism, patient empowerment, health promotion, health literacy and their relationships. Second, the development process in Turkey and the current status of health literacy are presented. Third, a brief summary of the Turkish Health Literacy Survey is presented.
